RULES & REGULATIONS ///
(A) General Rules Students will not be allowed to enter the Library if they are unable to present their student cards. The Library's materials may not be removed from the Library unless they have been properly issued by the Officer in charge. No bag (included laptop bag) should not be brought into the Library. Students are permitted to bring the following materials into the Library: writing instruments, lay-out pad paper, note-pad paper, colour pencils and set squares. Any other kinds of stationery and art materials, especially scissors and cutter are not to be brought into the Library. Pets are not allowed in the Library. Only thumbnail sketching is allowed in the Library. Any other kinds of drawing should be done elsewhere. All books and personal belongings must be shown to the staff at the Library exits whenever required to do so. The Library will not be held responsible for the loss of any personal belongings of users. (B) General Conduct Conduct prejudicial to the proper use of the Library is forbidden. Smoking, food and drinks are not allowed in the Library. Silence shall be observed in the Library. Users of the Library should be appropriately attired. Slippers, shorts, singlet, spaghetti straps and bare-backs are not to be worn in the TOA premises. Seats in the Library may not be reserved. Library users are not permitted to make or take phone calls within the library. Mobile phones and other electronic devices shall be switched to silent mode at all times (C) Library Membership Card The TOA Library membership card which is also the students' ID card, when lost, must be reported immediately in person to the Operation Department and Librarian. The TOA Library membership cards are not transferable and must be presented whenever requested by the Library staff. (D) The TOA Library Materials Members must ensure that materials checked out to them are returned or renewed on or before the date due. Notice sent by the Library serve only as a reminder and non-receipt of the notices does not absolve any member from paying fines or other penalties as stated in these Rules. Mutilation and theft of the Library's materials are offences punishable by law and, in case of The One Academy students and staff, are also disciplinary offences. Appropriate action will be taken by the College against offenders. A student found guilty is liable to be expelled from the College. (E) Fines Fines may be imposed, privileges or membership offered by the Library may be suspended or withdrawn for breach of any of the Library's Rules. For students found guilty, disciplinary action will be taken. All outstanding payment due to the Library must be paid on time. Payments are to be made through the online payment service. Rates of fines: Student & Staffs: RM 0.50 per day per book from the 2nd day after the date due. (F) Deposit A security deposit of RM500 for loaned materials is made by students upon registration. The deposit will be fully refunded upon graduation when students have shown that they no longer have any outstanding payments due to the The One Academy. Otherwise, the deposit will be used to cover any outstanding debts, and only the balance, if any, will be refunded. (G) Online Payment Service No monetary transactions are to be carried out in the Library. All payments due to the Library must be done through the online account, where payments (monetary transactions) are to be made at the Accounts Dept. Upon registration, members will have an online account with an initial payment of RM30.00. Payments or Overdue Fines will be deducted from this amount.
